LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

The addon I use to make my quest log wide, is called DoubleWide, and you can download it here at http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info6887-DoubleWide.html. LightHeaded should work with any quest log that uses QuestLogFrame.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

* Remove the conflict detection code from LightHeaded. Users that choose to run some of the addons that behave improperly
can determine any conflicts on their own. Addons that conflict will be listed on the LightHeaded addon description until t

* Altered the conflict detection system to be a bit more flexible. The only thing I can see tripping it currently are add

r258 | Cladhaire-15704 | 2008-11-16 10:56:24 +0000 (Sun, 16 Nov 2008) | 3 lines

* Altered the logic of the LightHeaded display frame, such that it will remember in the same session what page/scroll location you were at for any given quest. This means if you scroll to the bottom of page 3 on a specific quest, select another one and then come back you will go back to that same location.
* Added basic detection for addon conflicts (where the offending addon is causing cyclic scans of the quest log frames). These addons can severely impact the performance of your client when using LightHeaded together with them, so a warning message is displayed.

I'm running an addon called Mob Map which did display the issue you were describing. Thanks!

/run hooksecurefunc("SelectQuestLogEntry", function(idx) print("Selecting quest log entry: " .. tostring(idx)) end)

You will more than likely see the message printed over and over again. The addon calling SelectQuestLogEntry is your problem, but I can't post much more about that until I return from holiday.

Hello,

I recently returned to playing wow after not playing for about 8 months.

Didnt this add-on used to actually have audio effects for quests?

Like, it used to say, "Jobs Done!" or "work Complete!" in the warcraft III builder voices when you completed a quest.

IS this function still available or did it get removed, or am i thinking about another add-on?

EDIT: sorry i figured it out it was monkeyquest that did this

I would love to have the old version back. if not there is no point in having it or contributing to it.

Any help would be appricaited.

You did not install the addon correctly. All of the information is there, I suggest you delete and reinstall following the directions.

There are a number of addons you could use, Levelator, Quelevel, etc.

Routes is the name, and after disabling it, the functionality returned to lightheaded. I don't know who's causing the fault, or if the two could work together, but I'll report the issue to both authors for hope for a fix.

PS: Someone said you co-wrote a book - which book is that by curiosity?
Hrm, I'm not sure why Routes would be interfering, since it just uses TomTom. I'll try to look when I get back from holiday.

Our book is here: http://wowprogramming.com/store

Thanks for reporting back.

TomTom (and most navigation addons) cannot currently map coordinates in "battleground-like" zones, such as the death knight starting area. This is partially a WoW API limitation, but Astrolabe currently does have a way to accomplish this.

Everyone stop, there is no need for insults, or for this conversation to even continue.

ShadowEric, it's very simple. The addon updater should determine the lowest root that contains a table of contents file, and make the right decision. It already needs to make this sort of decision due to the different ways addon are packaged.

This is a non-issue, and I do not consider it an issue. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion, but managing addon the way you do is just asking for trouble in MY opinion. I am an extremely attentive author otherwise we would not even be having this discussion. You seem to fail to realize that there is no alternative for me.

End of conversation. I am sorry it causes you problems, but that is a factor of how you update, not my packaging. Your system does not take ANYTHING into consideration. That is the problem.

Untill then shutup!

I am entitled to my opinion, like it or not. You don't know who I am, what I do, what I can or cannot do.

And I'll voice that opinion if I feel it's warranted.

I'd still like to know how an autoupdater would handle multiple addons with a readme.txt file at the root of their zips. Could get interesting.

EDIT: Your post in Tomtom's comments was reported. You don't need to attack me across forums. And while I'm at it, be civil. I never insulted anyone.
